Facts about Rebecca Run for SMA:

• Rebecca Run was the vision of Race Director Louise Smith’s when her niece Rebecca was diagnosed with SMA 10 years ago.
• Every year more than 120 volunteers from across Ontario come together and work diligently on the Rebecca Run, as it is essential that we all help to raise awareness and research dollars.
• Since 2002 we have raised over $1.4million dollars through the Rebecca Run for SMA and the Angel Gala for SMA (www.angelgala.com).
• The 2010 Rebecca Run for SMA will once again raise money for FSMAC and the cure/treatment research they support.
• The event includes: 5k run and walk, 3km walk/run/roll, 1km kid’s fun-run, post run BBQ, race kits, kids' loot bags, door prizes, face painting and our very popular Silent Auction.

Facts about Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Canada (FSMAC):

• FSMAC is a national charity made up of volunteers.
• Most people involved with the charity have a loved one afflicted with SMA.
• FSMAC has been able to designate over 96% of money raised directly to research.
